Abstract

1297642 Cutters T BOWERS & CO (TOOLMAKERS) Ltd 21 May 1970 [30 July 1969] 38240/69 Heading B3C A counterbore cutter comprises lower and upper cylindrical sections and a cutting section the blades of which have straight parallel cutting edges disposed between the upper and lower section so that a cylindrical counterbore may be cut either downwardly or upwardly without turning the workpiece. After a desired depth is reached for the counterbore from above the workpiece the upper section 3 is passed through the bore from below and secured to the tool holder (not shown) so that on rotation and upward feed of the cutter a counterbore may be cut in the lower surface of the workpiece.
