Abstract

1296093 Valves J MARIE 18 Feb 1970 [19 Feb 1969] 7858/70 Heading F2V A fluid-pressure regulating valve comprises a diaphragm M1 subjected to the opposed actions of fluid pressure and a return spring R1 arranged in a lateral extension 15 of the valve housing and connected with the diaphragm through the medium of a linkage 33, 30 which disconnects the spring from the diaphragm when the diaphragm reaches a predetermined displacement, the valve then being closed by an auxiliary spring 26. As the diaphragm travels towards maximum opening position of the valve 20 rollers 32 are displaced to the right by a ramp 38 until they are disconnected from a lever 30 and the valve is freed for closure by a spring 26. To reset the valve, helical ramps 45 are rotated by a key 48 to release a pin 41 and allow a spring 43 to lower a rod 40 and reload the spring R1. The key 48 may also be used to free the rollers 32 from the lever 30 and allow the spring 26 to close the valve. A second valve 50 in series with the valve 20 provides fine pressure regulation. Fig. 5 shows an alternative construction in which the notched end of a lever 60 is disengaged from rollers 32<SP>1</SP> by rollers 65 co-operating with a cone 66.
