1295870 Bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate TEIJIN Ltd 19 Dec 1969 62132/69 Addition to 1204430 Heading C2C The invention comprises a modification of the process for the purification of bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate described and claimed in the parent Specification in which the crude or purified bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate is contacted with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst at least before or at least after the precipitation step and in which the bishydroxyethyl terephthalate is either in molten form or in dissolution or dispersion in an aromatic compound which is liquid at room temperature or other optional inert liquid media.
