Abstract
1295109 Automatic adaptive control CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 23 July 1970 [20 Oct 1969] 35645/70 Heading G3R A closed-loop system for controlling a variable is perturbated by a signal having a wide frequency spectrum and the phase displacements of the different frequency components of the resulting variations control the loop gain to attenuate those components having a large phase change. In Fig.1 a signal 22 corresponding to the value of a variable of a plant 1 is compared with a signal 21 corresponding to a desired value so that any error is applied to circuits 2, 3, 4 producing proportional integral and differential components. These components are combined to form a control signal 18 which is applied to the plant to correct the value of the variable. A perturbating signal 17 having a wide frequency spectrum is applied to the plant and the phases of the PI & D components applied through filters 12, 8 and 13 are compared with the phases of the signal controlling the plant at 14, 15, 16 so that components having a large phase shift are attenuated by their effect through integrators 9, 10, 11 to cause a reduction of the gain of multipliers 5, 6, 7. Constant signals 51-53 applied through integrators 9-11 ensure that the control signal applied to the plant varies at all times. Modifications are described in which the desired value signal acts also as the perturbation signal and the phase of the plant control signal or its PI & D components is compared with the phase of PI & D components of the variable.
