Abstract
1294332 Automatic power regulation DANFOSS AS 3 Nov 1969 [20 Nov 1968] 53699/69 Heading G3X [Also in Division H2] When an asynchronous motor M operates at the lower limit of a voltage range, a triac T is fully conductive during both half-cycles so that the motor receives maximum current. If the voltage applied to supply terminals 1, 2, is increased, the temperature and resistance of a PTC element P rises to reduce the charging-rate of a capacitor C1. This reduces the average current through the triac T which has a diac D in its gating circuit. The power supplied to the motor is thus maintained substantially constant despite changes in the supply voltage, and overheating is prevented.
