Abstract

1293879 Welding by fusion BUDERUS'SCHE EISENWERKE 1 Sept 1970 [25 Oct 1969] 41793/70 Heading B3R A consumable, arc-welding, electrode, for welding cast iron containing spheroidal graphite, comprises a soft iron wire core with a coating containing, by weight of the coating, at least 7% Ca in the form of Ca-Si alloy with 35% Ca. In a modification the Ca is replaced wholly or partly by an equivalent quantity of Sr and/or Ba. The welding process may include pre-heating to about 350‹ C., and subsequent heat-treatment.
