1293588 Slip casting A G HAYEK & PARTNERS Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 Nov 1969] 54608/69 Heading B5A Articles such as cups G are slip cast in a porous mould A which has a sharp change of contour at the level F of the eventual top rim of the article so that when the casting is dried it fractures by shrinkage along the line G1 ofthe change of contour. As shown, the contour change is provided by a substantially horizontal shoulder B which meets a vertical wall C which may include a groove D. The shouldered part may be subjected to a more intense drying than the remainder.
