Abstract

1293492 Electromagnetic fuel valve A PIERBURG AUTOGERATEBAU K G 28 May 1971 17905/71 Heading F1B [Also in Division F2] An electromagnetic fuel valve comprises an induction coil mounted outside an insulating coil support 2 containing fixed and movable magnetizable cones 4 and 5, the latter containing a spring 6 and valve shaft 7 which is press-fitted to a desired depth, the valve shaft having a cone 9 which engages a seat 12 formed by a stepped axial drilling in a valve housing 10. The spring 6 extends from the cone when the valve is closed as shown. An intermediate sleeve 14 is screwed at 15 into engine part 18 and brazed or welded to coil housing 1. Valve shaft 7 is pushed into cone 5 until the point of valve cone 9 projects a specified distance from the sleeve 14, depending upon the engine the valve is to be used with. Axial notches 8 are pressed or struck in shaft 7 and a plastics non-stick disc 20 is provided between moving cone 5 and a fixed cone 4. The helical spring 6 has a nearly constant spring characteristic.
