Abstract

1,259,748. Speed governor. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. April 7, 1970 [April 11, 1969], No.16482/70. Heading G3B. A centrifugal speed governor for an internal combustion engine comprises a control member 7 acted on by both a governor spring 8 and an additional spring 10 the latter acting through a lever 11 pivoted to the control member 7, and a holding member 34 pivotally connected to the lever 11, the member 34 being made of magnetizable material and being movable in a magnetic field of adjustable intensity. The current passing through a coil 31 determines the force holding the member 34, the force being a maximum when the member 34 is centrally disposed in the coil 31. The effective length of the additional spring 10 can be altered by rotating a screw 23. At the opposite end of lever 11 is attached a piston 14 immersed in oil which together with an adjustable throttle 21 acts as a damping unit. (Figure on next page)
