Abstract
1291959 Front projection; composite photography O K KOLB 19 April 1971 [17 April 1970] 18379/70 Headings G2A, G2C A front projection arrangement, particularly for where the foreground action is to be small in relation to the total image, includes a projector 2, beam splitter 4, masts 10,14 reflex reflecting screens 12,16 and camera 18. Masks 10,14 black out complementary positions of the projected image. By this arrangement when the foreground action is to occupy a small area of the composite image recorded by the camera 18 only the small screen 12 is required to indicate the position of the foreground action relative to the whole image and the stage screen 16 need only be large enough to provide the immediate background, so obviating the need for a much larger area of a single screen. A lens 6 may be provided to condense the image onto the small screen 12 and the screen 12 is preferably movable as indicated to permit the camera 18 to focus simultaneously on both screens 12,16.
