Abstract

1291753 Multi-component adhesives NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO 28 May 1970 [8 July 1969] 25621/70 Headings C3B, C3P, C3R and C3T. A multi-component curable adhesive or sealant system including first and second curable polymers and first and second curing agents for the first and second polymers respectively, wherein there is provided an intimate mixture including the first polymer and the second curing agent, which second curing agent is non- reactive with the first polymer, the said mixture being contained in a plurality of minute pressurerupturable polymer-walled capsules isolated from the second polymer and first curing agent until curing is effected by bringing the mixture into contact with the other ingredients. Preferably, the second polymer and first curing agent are also non-reactive so that a single mixing is sufficient. The capsules of the mixture can be dispersed in a solution of the second polymer containing the first curing agent or two or more sets of capsules can be mixed together. Curable polymers exemplified are epoxy resins, unsaturated polyesters, polysulphides, polyurethanes and silicon polymers.
