1289501 Spray producers SIMMS GROUP RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 19 Dec 1969 [2 Jan 1969] 251/69 Heading B2F [Also in Division G5] A piezoelectric oscillator 1 comprises lengths of metal bar between which are inserted piezoelectric crystals 2, 4. The crystals are excited by phased generators at a frequency corresponding to their spacing to produce ultrasonic vibrations with the crystals at nodes. There may be more than two crystals. The oscillator may be associated with a horn transformer to produce increased amplitude oscillations at its tip. The oscillator may be used in an ultrasonic atomiser, and its length may encompass many nodes.
