Abstract

128,945. Conte, J. Y. June 27, 1918, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Rotary filters.-A rotary suction filter, suitable for example for separating fecula from water, comprises a drum 1 divided by radial partitions into compartments which communicate through apertures 6 with chambers 8, 9 to which independent suction pipes 10, 11 are connected. The mixture is spread over the filter from cocks 13 on a pipe 12, through which excess of the mixture is circulated from a tank provided with an agitator. A scraper removes the separated solid from the surface of the drum. The compartment sweeping the arc between the scraper and the pipe 12 is connected to the chamber 8, through which the suction is weaker than through the chamber 9. Modified apparatus is described in which the spray pipe is omitted, and the filter drum has its lower portion immersed in the mixture, which is in a receptacle provided with an agitator.
