1289316 Casting processes ROBSON REFRACTORIES Ltd 18 Nov 1969 56326/69 Heading B3F [Also in Division F2] Heat loss from a cast ingot is reduced, by applying upon the surface of the molten metal 13 in a mould 14 a container 11 of metal foil filled with a heat-insulating particulate material (12), e.g. MgO 2 . The container 11 may include a number of smaller metal foil sections 15 each containing the refractory material, and has a flange 11c which supports the container 11 on the top face of an ingot mould 14.
