1288878 Gland packing HENRY CROSSLEY (PACKINGS) Ltd 15 June 1971 [21 Aug 1970] 40292/70 Heading F2B A gland packing comprises P.T.F.E. filaments 11 and graphite filaments 12 braided together; as shown, they form a square or rectangular crosssection, the P.T.F.E. filaments being disposed at the corners while the graphite filaments are disposed on the faces. A core 15 of graphite or P.T.F.E. filaments is also shown and the packing may be treated during or after braiding with an aqueous dispersion of P.T.F.E. to fill interstices.
