Abstract

1,047,208. Seals. F. BœRGEL. Sept. 9, 1965 [Sept. 12, 1964], No. 38500/65. Heading F2B. A seal between relatively rotatable members 1, 2 comprises co-operating rings 3, 4 recessed to define therebetween a chamber in which a floating body 6 is suspended in grease or other sealing medium. Grooves 3a, 4a serve to retain the grease. More than one chamber and floating body may be provided and the floating bodies may be of rectangular instead of circular cross-section. In Fig. 5 (not shown), the two co-operating rings are embraced in a casing.
