Abstract
1288507 Photographic processing apparatus POLAROID CORP 13 Jan 1970 [13 Jan 1969] 1619/70 Heading G2A Processing fluid 120 stored within an applicator 118 is expressed through a nozzle on to a strip of photographic film 104, located within a motion picture film cassette, as a function of the rate of relative motion between the applicator and the film. As shown, the applicator is in the form of a cylinder having a piston 126 connected via a rod 76 and a plate member 78 to a cam follower 74. A cam 50 and a cam carrier 48 rotate freely about a shaft 52, a pin (66) Fig. 4 (not shown) mounted on cam 50 engages an arcuate slot (66) provided in cam carrier 48, and a pin 60 mounted on cam carrier 48 engages a circular recess (58) provided in a spur gear (56). A motor 38 drives the spur gear via a reduction gearing (54) and a timing belt 42, a driven shaft 40 of the gearing terminating in a spline which couples to a take-up spool of a film cartridge (not shown). The film is driven at a constant speed by coupling a potentiometer 170 to cam 50, the potentiometer being in the motor circuit so as to adjust its speed as film builds up on the take-up spool. The apparatus is disposed in a light-tight housing, the film cassette being loaded through a hinged door provided in one wall of the housing.
