Abstract

128,847. Wilson, G. E., Gibb, E., Stephenson, R. S., and Harris, J. L. Dec. 17, 1918. Fish, treating.-Apparatus for washing fish, without touching it by hand, consists of a horizontal, cylindrical, conical, or like vessel G formed of circular ends connected by rods or bars, and rotated by power within a vessel D containing water. The vessel G is provided at one end with an inlet hopper A passing through the tubular journal and into which the fish is poured. At the other end there are fixed inclined blades C which pick up the fish after washing, and discharge them on to a stationary inclined grid B fixed within the other journal. The water tank has an inclined bottom leading to a valved outlet H, and is provided with a continuous water feed and with an overflow pipe J opposite the desired water - level. The washed fish may be delivered to another similar washer, to some other receptacle, or to a conveyer belt. The vessel G may be divided into compartments by cross partitions. The drainage from the grating B may be collected in a small tank and allowed to flow back to the main tank.
