Abstract
1288335 Refining n-alkylbenzenes CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS AG 30 Jan 1970 [1 Feb 1969] 4550/70 Heading C5E [Also in Division C2] Straight chain alkyl substituted benzenes, for use in production of alkyl benzene sulphonates, are refined by mixing with liquid HF in the absence of benzene and separating the organic phase from the mixture. The alkyl benzene may be a straight chain C 8 -C 16 alkane substituted by a phenyl radical. The treatment may be carried out at - 10 to 100‹ C. using HF containing 0À01-10 wt. per cent water.
