Abstract

URINARY MFG CO 5 May 1971 [23 July 1970 20 Aug 1970] 35710/70 and 45016/70 Heading A5R A clamp for a diathermic electrode plate 16 for application to a patients body comprises a rigid, non-conductive base member 11 having electrical terminal pieces 14 for connection to a source of H.F. electrical supply via terminals 12, a clamping cover plate (15) hinged or detachably connected to said base member, and means 18, (17) provided on the base member and on the cover plate respectively whereby the base member and cover plate can be clamped together with the plate 16 between them and in electrical contact with the terminal pieces 14. A feeding flex 13 consisting of two electrically insulated wires carries the H.F. electrical supply and may carry a low potential D.C. current via the patient plate 16 to monitor the faultlessness of the circuit before the conduction of current from the H.F. supply. A protective part 19 is secured in position to cover the termination of the two wires where they are connected to the terminals 12.
