Abstract
1288274 Milk processing apparatus M FROLICH 10 Nov 1969 [15 Nov 1968] 54978/69 Heading A2B An apparatus for the production of sour milk preparations comprises a plurality of containers which are formed by subdividing a tank having a jacket for hot or cold water. The containers are connected via valves to a common filling pipe, common emptying pipe and a common pipe for the supply of inoculant. Each container has a stirring means, cleaning means and pipe for cleaning fluid. A suitable apparatus is shown in Fig. 2 wherein a maturing tank 1 is formed as a vertical cylinder having a hot water jacket 2. The tank is subdivided by radial walls 3 into several containers A to D. Each container is connected via a valve 7 and pipe 8 for filling, via a valve 9 in a pipe 10 for emptying, and via a valve 11 and pipe 12 for inoculating the contents of the container. Each of the containers also has a stirring means 13 and cleaning turbine 14, and a pipe 15 for cleaning liquid leads into each of the containers. Milk processed in the tank 1 may be pumped via a cooler 21 to a second tank 23 which itself consists of containers E to H. The cooled milk may thus be stored in these containers.
