Abstract

1287911 Regulating fluid-flow PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 15 Sept 1969 [18 Sept 1968] 45398/69 Heading G3H Control pressure applied to either of ports 4 or 6 moves triple piston 7, 8, 9 to meter the flow from outlet port 3 by controlling the areas of radial bleed slots 23 in alignment with annular passage 24. The fluid supply to,be regulated is fed to port 5 and is communicated to port 3 via piston ducts 16-19, and annular gaps 26, 27 which promote luminar flow. The piston and housing are manufactured from materials selected to provide a constant relationship between the dimension of gaps 26, 27 and the fluid temperature.
