Abstract

1286621 Missile warheads BOLKOW BLOHM GmbH and F R THOMANEK 9 Dec 1965 [14 Jan 1965] 52381/65 Heading F3A [Also in Division H1] The space between the components of an electronic assembly is filled with an explosive substance which is also an electrical insulant. The explosive may be a mixture of a high explosive with a synthetic plastic material or with a fusible nitro compound. Mononitronaphthalene may be added to the composition to reduce cracking when hardening. Other additives are textile, synthetic plastic, or glass fibres. The components may be coated with varnish before casting the explosive round them. The electronic assembly may be used in a missile for controlling or guiding the missile or for igniting the explosive charge.
