Abstract

1286222 Coenzyme B 12 SOC FARMACEUTICI ITALIA 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 21518/71 Heading C2V Coenzyme B 12 is prepared by cultivating a microorganism Nocardia rugosa 7892 F.1. in submerged culture in a liquid nutrient medium containing assimilable sources of carbon, nitrogen and mineral salts. The cultivation is effected at 28‹ to 37‹ C. for 4 to 8 days at a pH of 5 to 8. The cells obtained are heated in suspension to release the coenzyme which is separated from solution by solvent extraction and chromatography. Examples are given.
