Abstract

1285576 Coated pipes IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 31 July 1970 [5 May 1969] 22711/69 Addition to 1038980 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B4 B5 and F2] Pipes having polyurethane coated walls are produced by coating a rotating mandrel with a reaction mixture capable of forming an unfoamed polyurethane and allowing the mixture to react thereon without a mould. The mixture may be applied by pouring, spraying or dipping. The mandrel may be a plastics tube e.g. of pvc, the polyurethane forming a reinforcing outer layer. The mixture may include further reinforcement e.g. glass fibres as woven cloth, random mat, continuous or chopped fibres, polyurethane thermoplastic fibre, polyamide fibre, thermoplastic not mesh, steel wire or wire mesh, or crimped strip metal e.g. aluminium.
