Abstract
1285486 Vapour power plant F R THIENPONT 8 June 1970 27691/70 Heading F1Q A power system comprises in inter-connected arrangement a reservoir 10 for a refrigerant, means for vaporizing and super-heating the refrigerant to produce super-heated vapour, the means including a boiler 12 and heating means associated with the boiler, pump means 14 for transferring pressurized liquid refrigerant to the boiler, engine means 16 for converting energy of the super-heated vapour into motive power and then exhausting the vapour for reuse in the system, condensing means 18 for condensing the refrigerant and means for refrigerating the condensing means. First compressor means 134 is operatively connected to the engine means to take a suction therefrom and discharge to the condensing means. The condensing means includes an insulated tank 154 of coolant and condenser coils 168 for taking the discharge from the compressor means and absorbing heat from the gas received from the compressor means. The refrigerating means includes an evaporator 166 disposed in the tank of coolant to remove heat therefrom, the condensing means being operative to condense the evaporated refrigerant which is then returned to the reservoir.
