Abstract

1285341 Moulding tubular articles KUNSTSTOFFWERK GEB ANGER GmbH & CO 17 July 1969 [18 July 1968] 36103/69 Heading B5A A thermoplastic tube 3 is first injection moulded with a socket portion 4 connected to an enlarged diameter outer end 5 by a step-shaped shoulder 6, and the portion 5 is then formed into an annular corrugation by means of apparatus shown in Fig. 2. This apparatus comprises a restraining member 7 adapted to surround the socket portion 4, and an axially displaceable forming ring 8 and mandrel 9. The forming ring has an inclined inner surface 10 and is resiliently mounted by means of springs 13. An abutment pin 11 is variable to control the depth of penetrations of the mandrel 9. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the annular corrugation has 90 degree shoulders on both sides while in Fig. 4 (not shown) it is of undercut form.
