Abstract

1284219 Rear-view mirrors TECHNISCHE INDUSTRIE AC KOOT NV 10 June 1970 [11 June 1969] 28154/70 Addition to 1213570 Heading B7J [Also in Division F2] An electrically operable adjustment means for azimuth and elevation adjustment, in particular for a rear view mirror on a motor vehicle, comprises a support member 55 on which a part 28 to be adjusted is universally mounted, by means of a ball joint 67, an electric motor 2 and a double planetary reduction gear 1 having output pulleys 51, 52 which are connected to the part 28 by two strings 53, 54. An input shaft 7 is coupled to the motor 2 and carries a pin 12 which may couple the shaft 7 either to a sun gear 11 or to a sun gear 19, depending upon the axial position of shaft 7. Sun gear 11 meshes stepped planet gears 13 which mesh a fixed annulus and an annulus on a rotary disc 35<SP>1</SP> carrying the pulley 52. Similarly, sun gear 19 meshes stepped planet gears 18 which mesh a fixed annulus and an annulus or a rotary disc 21 carrying the pulley 51. String 53 has a double loop passing around pulley 51, one end fixed in a tubular rim 56 by a spring 57, and the other end secured in a corresponding tubular part 56<SP>1</SP>, after passing round guide pulleys 58, 59, 60 and 61. String 54 has a double loop passing around pulley 52 and is secured to tubular rims 64 by springs 65 after passing around guide pulleys 62, 63. In a modification, the tubular parts are arranged in the form of a diamond.
