Extrusion machines; rolling-machines ;moulding pharmaceutical preparations and sweetmeats.-Relates to the manufacture of tablets or pellets of drugs, sweetmeats, &c., of the kind in which a number of tablets are connected by a thread, string, or wire, and consists in forcing the material through a nozzle d fitted with a die e through which the thread g is passed axially, the extruded rod of material passing to a series of indenting or cogging rollers l, n, o, having the desired configuration of the tablets. The nozzle d may be furnished with a number of dies e and the rollers l. n, o, provided with a corresponding series of indentations. Each thread g passes from a spool j through a lateral opening h in the nozzle d and around a grooved pulley f alined with the die c. The thread is severed between two tablets to form a string of tablets of the desired length, and the rollers may be engraved to emboss each tablet with a letter, such letters being adapted to form. a word for advertisement purposes.
