Abstract

1283580 Contact spring assemblies for switches PLESSEY CO Ltd 11 Dec 1970 [2l Nov 1969] 57199/69 Heading HlN A contact spring pile-up is provided with clamping plates 14, 15 between which alternate contact springs 10 and insulators 11 are held on at least two "spigots" 12, 13 projecting from and integral with the plate 14 and secured to the plate 15. The ends 19 of the spigots may be deformed on to surfaces 18 of the plate 15 by a tool 20 or plastics plugs may be fitted in the plates 15 and spigot ends (Fig. 4, not shown). The spigots and plugs are tubular to allow a fixing screw to be used to mount the assembly on a relay yoke. The components may be formed in sets in sheet like form (Fig. 2) for simultaneous assembly of a plurality of contact pile-ups before removal of connecting webs 24, 27, which connect the parts in a ring or in a straight line (Fig. 3, not shown).
