Abstract

1282000 Nitric oxide M A MINIOVICH AL SHNEERSON and V A MOLCHANOV 27 Nov 1969 58175/69 Heading C1A [Also in Division C7] Ammonia is oxidized to nitric oxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising an alloy consisting of 75-82% Pt, 15-22% Pd, 2-3À5% Rh and 0À05-0À15% Au, Fe and Ir. Ammoniaair mixtures are converted to nitric oxide to an extent of at least 97-98%. Conditions of conversion mentioned are up to 6 atmospheres pressure and temperatures of up to 850‹ C.
