1409421 Oxidation catalysts D BRYCESMITH and E T BLUES 6 July 1973 [17 July 1972] 33296/72 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions C2 and C7] A catalytically active material containing metallic gold is prepared by heating or reduction with Na BH 4 of a gold ketenide or complex thereof or a mixed gold-silver or goldsilver-copper ketenide. In example 6, gold ketenide pyridinate is supported on dry glass Fenske helices and heated under propylene to 200C to yield a metallic gold containing material subsequently used as a catalyst in the oxidation of propylene (see Division C2). Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specifications 1329252, 1295641.
