Abstract

1281535 Electrical connector BICCBURNDY 12 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968] 59365/68 Heading H2E An electrical connector comprises a spring contact 1 a rigid terminal 4 and an insulating housing 7. The contact 1 and terminal 4 project from opposite ends of an aperture 6 in the housing 7 being retained by engagement of the curved root 3 of contact 1 with the root 5 of the terminal 4 and the walls of the aperture, the curved root 3 being deformed by this engagement. Steps are provided in the housing to limit entry of the contact and terminal, engaging the end of the terminal 4 and the shoulders 9 of the contact 1. A plurality of such contactterminal arrangements are located in the housing to form an edge-connector for a printed circuit board.
