Abstract

1281255 Locks KEYSTONE CONSOLIDATED INDUSTRIES Inc 16 Oct 1970 [16 Oct 1969] 49274/70 Heading E2A A lock comprises a housing 14 mountable on a door to be flush with the exterior surface thereof, a latch bolt 45 pivoting in the housing and urged by a spring 54 to project through an opening 24 therein, an actuating lever 32 pivoting in the housing on a pin 44 having a projection which abuts the bolt whereby pivoting the lever pivots the bolt and retracts it from the opening 24. A lock plug 66 is engaged in an opening 23 in the housing the opening having opposed grooves 62 for the plate tumblers of the plug. The plug has a cut away hub providing two shoulders engageable with a tab 76 on a locking element 73 when the lock is actuated by a key 79 to slidably move the element to engage in a slot in a corner edge of the actuating lever 32 to prevent its movement. Reverse rotation of the key and plug withdraws the locking element. Bent tabs 77 on the locking element engage with either of spaced pins 78 in the housing to limit rotation of the lock plug. As shown in Figure 22 the bolt and lever are inverted and the bolt is mounted to project from the other side of the housing and the end portion 80 of the actuating lever is depressed to withdraw the bolt.
