1280398 Audible alarm systems P R MALLORY & CO Inc 20 April 1970 [21 April 1969] 18794/70 Heading G4F An alarm system comprises a transistorized oscillator circuit 2 driving a piezoelectric crystal X1 to generate an audible sound. To make the sound distinguishable from a noise background the supply to input terminal 4<SP>1</SP> is derived from a transistorized switching circuit 1 having a power input B1, the circuit 1 functioning as an oscillator to supply a pulsed supply to terminal 4<SP>1</SP> so that the crystal generates an intermittent sound. To minimize production costs the circuits 1, 2 are similar apart from resistor R1, capacitor Cl and crystal X1. The switching frequency is determined by the resonant circuit components R1, Cl.
