Abstract

1280023 Treating lead oxide AGFAGEVAERT 17 Oct 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 53672/68 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions G2 and H1] Lead (II) oxide particles are treated with a salt which produces a substance on the particles which has a colour closer to the chromaticity point of daylight than that of the particles themselves. The salt may be a chloride, fluoride, bromide or iodide of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Ba, Sr or NH 4 . The salt is preferably applied as an aqueous solution which is optionally heated. It is stated that the white substance produced by the action of aqueous calcium chloride is a coating of a mixed lead hydroxide-chloride.
