Abstract
1279675 Supports for sanitary vessels J J O R ROLAND 25 June 1969 [1 July 1968] 32049/69 Heading A4N A sanitary vessel 2, such as a bath, having a bottom 5, lateral sides 8, rounded portions at the corners of the bottom and curvatures 10 around the periphery of the bottom connecting the bottom and lateral sides, is supported by a one-piece imperforate bearer cradle having ribs joined by base parts 4 which lie in a horizontal plane, each rib having an upwardly concave surface 6 or 9 supporting the bottom of the vessel or the rounded portions and curvatives 10 thereof respectively. Thermally insulating air pockets 16 may be formed between the ribs, further insulation being optionally provided by a sheet (15), Fig.3 (not shown) between the support and the vessel. A peripheral part 3 of the cradle may have a step 11 for supporting side panels 12 having abutments 17 for supporting a peripheral flange 13 of the vessel. The panels may alternatively be integrally formed with a support having a undercut recess (14), Fig.3, around at least part of its periphery. Side walls of the support may be inclined outwardly, upwardly or downwardly to allow nesting of the supports for storage. The support may be produced by a stamping operation in a plate of metal or synthetic material.
