Abstract
1278770 Soldering I M RYABOV and A A SHLYKOV 26 June 1970 31188/70 Heading B3R In joining two members 1, 2, a resilient sealing member 6 resistant to the heat of soldering or brazing and incapable of adhering to solder or brazing metal is located in a gap 3 between the members, a wire 7 capable of adhering to solder or brazing metal is provided in the gap on the member 6 with a portion 8 extending from the gap and solder or brazing metal is provided in the gap to form a joint between the members with the wire portion 8 extending out of the solder or brazing metal. The gap 3 is between tinned surfaces 4, 5 of the cover 1 and body 2 of a shell and the member 6 is of rubber. The wire 7 which is stronger than the solder or brazing metal and is of steel is placed on the member 6 with the end 8 out of the gap and then the gap is filled with liquid solder or brazing metal. To break the joint after solidification of the solder the end 8 is pulled.
