1277971 Vibration damping BOFORS AB 3 June 1969 27990/69 Heading F2S [Also in Divisions H3 and H4] To damp out the acoustic vibrations generated by the movements of air as a multi-sided reflecting body 1 is rotated about the axis 2 in a drum, the wall of the drum is formed by a net 3 which is surrounded by one or more layers of acoustically porous material 4, such as felt, the innermost layer being of greatest porosity. At the edges 5, 6 the net 3 is folded back to increase the stability, and the best shape as regards acoustic properties is found by experiment.
