Abstract

1277958 Fractional distillation apparatus F B HASKETT 8 Oct 1969 49525/69 Heading B1B [Also in Division C7] An apparatus for example as in Fig. 1, for fractional distillation of metals (see Division C7) includes 2 or more compartments 15, 16 arranged to provide a succession of separating zones containing pools of liquid 12, 21 of a given depth, at least one condensation tube 25 extending from above the pool of each compartment but the last through the pool in the next compartment and opening thereinto. Means may be included for maintaining each compartment at a predetermined pressure. Also provided may be a feed conduit 11, a bottoms conduit 13, overflow conduit 24, conduits 28 leading to a source of vacuum, an outlet conduit 32 fitted with a reflux condenser 33, and apparatus heating and insulating means (not shown).
