Abstract
1277163 Dispenser package for tablets DESBERGERS LIMITEE 24 Sept 1970 [1 Oct 1969] 45542/70 Headings B8C and B8P A device, for holding and dispensing tablets, pills, capsules, or the like, comprises a case 10 having a base 12 and a cover 14, a tablet disc 16 having partitions 30 which extend from a wall 34 to form an annular pattern of tablet receiving compartments 28, a time indicator 18, and a ratcheted periphery 36, a calendar element 20 with an annular pattern of time indentifications 46 and a ratcheted periphery 50 and which is adapted to fit over the top edge 35 of the wall 34 and be rotatable on the tablet disc, and a clamp element 22, shaped to fit into the base 12, and having an overhanging top edge 64 and a tablet exit 66 which co-operates with a guide 26 on the base 12. To assemble the dispenser the tablet disc 16, with its compartments 28 filled with tablets, is rotatably mounted in the base 12 by engaging a hollow boss 38, at its centre, with a hub 24 on the base 12, the calendar element 20 is placed over the tablet disc 16 to rest upon the partitions 30, and the clamp element 22 is positioned over the tablet disc 16 and the calendar element 20. A latch 80 on the clamp element 22 snaps into locking engagement with a projection 82 on the base 12, the ratchets 36, 50 on the tablet disc 16 and calendar element 20 respectively engaging pawls 74, 76 on the inside wall of the clamping element so that the tablet disc can only rotate in one direction, for instance clockwise, and the calendar element can only rotate in the opposite direction. In one manner of use the calendar element 20 is rotated by using finger grip lugs 52, 54 to locate a particular marking, such as Sunday, between the indicator 18 and the aligned exit, and a breaking seal 78, carried by the clamp element 22, is removed so that the tablet can be dispensed from the corresponding compartment 28. On the second day the indicator 18, which is integral with the hub 38 of the tablet disc, is moved clockwise to indicate Monday.
