Abstract

1277124 Transfers C KOENIG 6 Nov 1969 [7 Nov 1968] 54386/69 Heading B6C A transfer comprises a masking foil 1 with an anti-adhesive surface 2, carrying a layer of selfadhesive material 3. A printed design 4 is laid on the material 3 and this deprives the material of its adhesive power at this location. The material 3 and design 4 is then covered by a carrier foil 5 to which the adhesive material 3 bonds more strongly than to the foil 1. In use, the masking foil is peeled away. Then the adhesive surface is applied to the base being decorated and the design 4 is secured thereto by rubbing the area of the carrier foil 5 to break down the adhesion between the design 4 and the foil 5. The latter may then be removed from the base leaving only the design 4 thereon secured by the self adhesive material between the design and the base.
