Abstract

1276976 Cooling linear motors HERBERT MORRIS Ltd 19 April 1971 [5 March 1970] 10606/70 Heading H2A In a linear induction motor comprising a stationary member in which the windings are inserted in slots 2 between packs 3 of laminations, heat transfer members in the form of fingers 6 of good heat conducting material are introduced into the slots and extend over the sides of the packs where they are anchored by supporting clamps 4. The motor may be mounted on a heat sink or cooling pin arrangement. As shown the fingers comprise individual elements but the parts on each side of the motor may be integral with a strip located parallel to the clamp 4. The fingers also may be channel shaped.
