1276631 Belt tensioning means DR ING hcF PORSCHE KG 6 Nov 1970 [11 Dec 1969] 52893/70 Heading F2Q [Also in Division F1] A V-belt angle drive for driving the cooling blower 2 of an air-cooled internal-combustion engine comprises differently sized V-belt pulleys 6, 7 on the engine crank-shaft 5, differently sized V-belt pulleys 9, 10 on the shaft 11 of the blower 2, and two sets of differently sized deflecting pulleys 12, 13 mounted on an axis extending transversely to the axes of rotation of the crank-shaft 5 and drive spindle 11, the pulleys of each set of deflecting pulleys being rotatable independently of each other on a common spindle. The blower 2 is driven from the crank-shaft 5 through two V-belts 3, 4. The deflecting pulleys 12, 13 are mounted on shafts 14, 15 of dynamos 16, 17, the pulleys 13 being keyed to the shafts and the pulleys 12 being rotatably mounted by means of ball bearings 18. The dynamos 16, 17 are mounted on a block 22 which is diagonally displaceable on a bracket 21 in order to vary the tension of the belts 3, 4. Fine adjustment of the tension of belt 3 may be effected by the adjustment of the effective diameter of the pulleys 12 by the insertion of spacers 23 between the flanges.
