Abstract

1276523 Modulating light RCA CORPORATION 23 July 1969 [31 July 1968] 37116/69 Heading H4F [Also in Division G5] In a display device wherein light signals are modulated by varying the turbidity of a nematic crystal layer by applying an electrical signal thereto, as in Specification 1,167,486, half-tone effects are obtained by modulating the frequency of the electrical signal. The amplitude of the signal determines the response time. The apparatus described is substantially the same as that in said Specification.
