1276230 Determination of glucose BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 7 Aug 1970 [11 Aug 1969] 38118/70 Heading B1X A diagnostic agent for the determination of glucose in biological fluids or foodstuffs comprises hexokinase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PDH), adenosine triphosphate (ATP), magnesium sulphate, nicotinamide adecontaining an azide and optionally a surface active agent. The agent may comprise a suspension of the enzymes hexokinase and G-6-PDH in ammonium sulphate solution, and a powder of the remaining components, or a suspension of the enzymes as above, the NADP in solid form, for example as a tablet, and an aqueous solution of the remaining components. Preferred proportions by weight in the agent are:-magnesium sulphate heptahydrate 1 to 15%, NADP 0.5 to 6%, ATP 0.5 to 6%, surface active agent, for example digitonin or an ethoxy adduct, 0.10 to 1.5%, buffer mixture 50 to 95% containing 2.0 to 18% sodium azide. The buffer mixture preferably comprises 1.56 to 11.0 pbw triethanolamine hydrochloride, 0.6 to 3.5 pbw sodium carbonate or 1.2 to 7.5 pbw tris-methane, 0.55 to 3.45 pbw succinic acid, or 0.7 to 4.5 pbw imidazole, 0.70 to 1.75 pbw succinic acid.
