Abstract

1276077 Bowling ball return mechanism AMF Inc 19 April 1971 [28 May 1970] 22583/71 Heading A6D A bowling ball return apparatus includes an upwardly curved track 18 comprising two spaced rails; a driven conveyor belt 26 therebeneath, one pass of which is engageable with a ball on the rails; and a strip 86 spaced from the belt a distance less than a ball's diameter and urged by a plate 110 towards the conveyor belt to decelerate a ball to the conveyor's speed. The strip 86 may be spring tensioned. The plate 110 may be an inverted V-shape and spring biased towards the strip 86. The conveyor belt pulley 32 and a motor-drive-belt pulley 52 may each be pivotally mounted and spring biassed to retain the belts taut. The track 18 communicates with a storage rack 16.
