Abstract

1275926 X-ray examination tables PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 15 July 1969 [18 July 1968] 35553/69 Heading H5R In an X-ray table in which the bearing surface for the patient is divided by an intermediate space 4 into two portions 2 and 3, portion 3 is supported from portion 2 by a beam 5 having transverse arms 6 and 7 rotatably journalled by stub shafts 14 in bearings fixed to the portions 2 and 3, a shaft rotatably journalled within the beam 5 having pinions 10 and 11 fixed to its ends and engaging with toothed segments 8 and 9 respectively attached to portions 3 and 2, whereby the support beam 5 may be rotated to a position such that it does not impede X-ray examination of a patient, while table portion 3 is maintained parallel to portion 2. In a modified arrangement, the pinions and toothed segments are replaced by chains and sprockets. The opening 4 may be closed by a displaceable cover 27.
