Abstract

1275284 Machine tool sliding tables HEALD MACHINE CO 13 May 1969 [16 May 1968] 24373/69 Heading B3B [Also in Division F2] A machine tool table 12 is supported on a base 13 by fluid bearings 10, 14 in which the flow of pressure fluid is automatically adjusted to maintain a constant bearing clearance (see Division F2). The table is moved on the base by an hydraulic cylinder 15. The bearings are provided in an inverted T-shaped member secured to the bottom of the table and fluid bearing pads are provided in both upper and lower and end surfaces of the member.
