[Also in Division A4] An adjustable strut for a bed or chair comprises a rack 2 engaging a strut having a stud 7 at one end. The stud may be moved in direction of arrow 8 to give a number of angular positions and is returned, lifting spring 11a to the beginning of the rack above a guide 4b. A further spring tongue 13 may be provided if the stud 7 does not fall by gravity into the rack 2d. (For Figure see next column)
